The method 1200 includes receiving 1202 route data associated with a route of vehicle and determining 1204 that angle of lane merge in the route data exceeds pre-defined range. Further, the method 1200 includes measuring 120 proximity range of external objects around the vehicle based on the determination and adjusting 1208 an angle of a Field of View (FOV) to detect the external objects around the vehicle for determining 1210 that the proximity range of the external objects exceeds a first predefined threshold. Furthermore, the method 1200 includes activating 1212 one or more sensors to track the external objects in proximity of the vehicle based on the determination."
