MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023764 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on March 26, 2024, for 'system and method of air-cooling for electric vehicle radiator coolant.'

Inventor(s) include Balaji Chandrakanth; Phani Kumar Mallisetty; Satheysh Paval P; Bonela Suresh; Pranabendu Saha; and Mo. Majid Ansari.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "System and method of air-cooling for Electric vehicle radiator coolant comprising an Electric motor cooling sub-system, Vehicle cabin cooling sub-system, a Bypass cooling circuit to electric motor cooling sub-system, and a Control Circuit. The system has a by-pass circuit from the vehicle cabin cooling system to the electric motor cooling system for cooling the coolant of the vehicle radiator. When the coolant temperature exceeds a preset threshold. The control valve is opened to enable the flow of refrigerant through the bypass circuit. The condensed vapor refrigerant is routed through the cooling coil to cool the inlet air, and then this chilled air is sent to the radiator to cool the coolant. Therefore, the radiator fan's efficiency is boosted by this bypass system. For the system to be efficient, the controller system optimises power usage by controlling the opening rate of the control valve based on a variety of factors."
