MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086805 A) filed by Hero Motocorp Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 19, 2023, for 'system and method to identify braking in a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Goyal, Aashish; and Sharma, Piyush Mani.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments provide a system (200) and a method (300) to identify a state of braking applied by the rider of the vehicle (100). The method (300) involves a controller (202), determining (302) if a running speed of the vehicle (100) is more than a threshold running speed of the vehicle (100), receiving (304) an input signal from at least one brake switch (208), determining (306) if the input signal is received for at least a predetermined time and subsequently generating (308) a feedback signal, all under the control of the controller (202). The generated feedback signal of the controller (202) is indicative of an unintentional state of braking applied by the rider of the vehicle (100). Further, the controller (202) transmits the generated feedback signal to at least one of a visual alarm (114), an audio alarm (115), and haptic feedback."
