MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087274 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'system for improving eye-gaze predictions for occupants in a vehicle and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) and a method (500) for improving eye-gaze predictions for occupants in a vehicle are disclosed. The system (100) comprises an occupant monitoring unit (102), one or more image sensors (104), and a control unit (106) configured to: receive, one or more real-time images of eyes of one or more occupants; process, the one or more real-time images of the eyes in an offline mode; generate, one or more synthetic images of the eyes corresponding to the one or more offline processed images of eyes; filter, the one or more real-time images of the eyes using the one or more synthetic images of the eyes; create, a plurality of real-time feature vectors based on the one or more offline processed images of the eyes; and predict, a real-time eye-gaze for the one or more occupants based on the plurality of real-time feature vectors."
