MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018945 A) filed by Christ University, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 19, for 'system for modeling crude oil price volatility impacts on public sector oil and gas equity dynamics.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. M. Muthu Gopalakrishnan; Dr. M. Raja; Dr. Pujari Sudharsana Reddy; and Dr. S. Kavitha.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a system that models the impacts of exogenous crude oil price fluctuations on public sector oil and gas equity dynamics by integrating key components including a data acquisition module (10) for retrieving time-series crude oil and share price data, and a data preprocessing and stationarity testing unit (20) that cleanses, normalizes, and transforms data into return series using unit root tests such as the Augmented Dickey-Fuller test. An ARCH modeling component (30) evaluates historical influences from past squared residuals, while a GARCH modeling component (40) estimates conditional volatility. The system further incorporates a hypothesis testing and validation module to analyze model parameters with maximum likelihood estimation, along with a result visualization module to generate graphical representations of volatility patterns in real time."
