MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311082854 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 5, 2023, for 'system for preventing parking congestion and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Chiranjeevi Manchasandra Chayakumar; and Prasanna Srinivasan Venkatesan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and a method equipped in an ego-vehicle 110 for preventing parking congestion involves: monitoring, through a control unit, real-time speed of the ego-vehicle, by communicating with an ECU of the ego-vehicle 110. Further, it involves prompting a user to actuate a park assist mode, when the monitored speed is detected to be below a threshold speed for a first pre-defined time-period. It includes one or more light-emitting elements 102 configured at tail light assemblies 202, where upon actuation of the park assist mode, at least one of the one or more light-emitting elements 102 emit light projecting clearance lines 204-1 and 204-2 for forming clearance plots 206 around one or more sides of the ego-vehicle 110 indicating to a following vehicle 210 a safe distance to be maintained from the ego-vehicle 110 to enable the ego vehicle 110 to make a parking operation."
