MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517073506 A) filed by Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (PUBL), Stockholm, on Aug. 1, for 'systems and methods for improved positioning.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (1700) by a user equipment, UE (1012), for improved UE positioning is provided. The method includes the UE performing (1702) positioning computation to obtain a first UE position estimate based on a first set of positioning related reports. Based on a respective compatibility score for each positioning related report in the first set of positioning related reports, the UE identifies (1704) a second set of positioning related reports. The second set of positioning related reports is a subset of the first set of positioning related reports. The UE determines (1706) whether the second set of positioning related reports is smaller than the first set of positioning related reports. When the second set of positioning related reports is smaller than the first set of positioning related reports, the UE performs (1708) positioning computation to obtain a second UE position estimate based on the second set of positioning related reports."
