MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087874 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'systems and methods for object trajectory based virtual lane building using neural networks.'
Inventor(s) include Sobana Sundararajan; Shashank Tiwary; and Chitaranjan Dash.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system (100) and a method (500) object trajectory based virtual lane building using neural networks. The method (500) includes generating (502) a road map associated with one or more lanes based on vehicle data, determining (504) at least one object associated with the one or more lanes based on the road map, and generating (506) one or more trajectory points corresponding to said at least one object. Further, the method (500) includes determining (508), via an autoencoder, one or more optimal trajectory points, predicting (510), via a neural network, a central clothoid associated with the one or more optimal trajectory points for the one or more lanes, and generating (512) one or more virtual lanes based on the central clothoid."
