MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050524 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology, Salem, Tamil Nadu, on April 21, for 'telescopic auto extension paint spraying machine.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. M. Pradeepkumar; and V. Kaviarasan.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a telescopic auto extension paint spraying machine (100) configured to automatically maintain an optimal spray distance between a spray nozzle (103) and a target surface (200). The machine comprises a base frame (101), a telescopic arm assembly (102), at least one distance sensor (104), an actuator (105), and a control unit (106). The distance sensor (104) continuously measures the gap between the spray nozzle (103) and the target surface (200) and transmits real-time data to the control unit (106). The control unit (106) compares the measured distance with a predefined optimal spraying distance and activates the actuator (105) to extend or retract the telescopic arm assembly (102) accordingly. The system operates in a closed-loop feedback manner to ensure uniform coating, reduced overspray, and improved paint utilization. The invention is suitable for industrial, robotic, and automated painting applications."
