MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017926 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'tennis ball collection assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tennis ball collection assistive device comprises of a body 1 attached with a handle 2 gripped by a user for maneuvering body 1 on a surface via a set of wheels 3, a screen 4 installed on handle 2 for enabling user's input commands for collecting tennis balls, a camera 5 mounted on handle 2 for detecting location of balls, a laser projection unit 13 mounted on handle 2 guiding user to position body 1 towards balls, a primary suction unit 6 configured with body 1 for withdrawing balls within body 1, a set of chambers 7 configured with iris lid 8 installed with body 1 for storing balls, a color sensor positioned within body 1 detects collected balls color, a secondary suction unit 9 paired with chambers 7 for withdrawing ball and collecting ball within respective chambers 7 and an IR counter 7 counts number of balls collected."
