MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517069620 A) filed by Daikin Industries, Ltd., Osaka, Japan, on July 22, for 'tetrafluoroethylene polymer composition, binder for electrochemical device, electrode mixture, electrode, and secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Nishimura, Kenta; Kato, Taketo; Yamada, Takaya; Nagai, Shota; Inoue, Ryo; Terada, Junpei; and Yamanaka, Taku.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a tetrafluoroethylene polymer composition for use in a binder for an electrochemical device, said tetrafluoroethylene polymer composition being capable of suppressing the generation of gas in an electrochemical device cell and the deterioration of the properties of the electrochemical device, and also being capable of improving the strength of a mixture sheet. Also provided are a binder for an electrochemical device using said composition, an electrode mixture, an electrode, and a secondary battery. Specifically provided is a tetrafluoroethylene polymer composition to be used in a binder for an electrochemical device, said tetrafluoroethylene polymer composition containing a tetrafluoroethylene polymer and a polymer compound that has an ionic group, and containing substantially no water."
