MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024874 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'toddler holding and resting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A toddler holding and resting assistive device, comprises of a frame developed to be positioned in contact with hand rest of a wheelchair, a pair of L-shaped telescopic rods 1 to extends/retract an extendable rectangular plate 4 for allowing a user seated over the wheelchair to accommodate a toddler, plurality of electromagnetic clamps 2 for securing the frame with the wheelchair, an electromagnetic spring 3 for absorbing sudden jerks and movements, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 for capturing and processing multiple images of the frame, plurality of primary motorized hinges 6 to modulate shape of the platform as per shape of the toddler's back portion, a microphone for enabling the user to give input commands, a secondary motorized hinge 7 attached with a curved shaped member 8 for tilting the member 8, a laser emitter o emit laser beam of light in direction of the flies/mosquitoes."
