MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202548056897 A) filed by Canon Kabushiki Kaisha, Tokyo, on June 13, for 'toner cartridge and image forming apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Asanuma, Naoya; Hamada, Takatoshi; Tanabe, Masato; Kawamura, Tomofumi; and Atsu, Yusuke.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a toner cartridge and an image forming apparatus comprising such a cartridge. This cartridge comprises (i) a casing including (i-i) a toner accommodation chamber accommodating toner, and (i-ii) a discharge opening capable of discharging the toner; (ii) a first engaging portion forming an opening; (iii) a second engaging portion forming an opening; (iv) a feeding member movable relative to the casing and configured to feed the toner in the toner accommodation chamber toward the discharge opening; (v) a pump configured to discharge the toner through the discharge opening by using air; and (vi) a storing element provided with an electrical contact, wherein the pump is provided with a connecting portion connected with the casing, and as viewed in a feeding direction of the toner by the feeding member, the electrical contact of the storing element and the connecting portion of the pump are in opposite sides from each other with respect to a line connecting the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion."
