MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010156 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'tooth cleaning device for pets.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Vikas Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tooth cleaning device for pets comprises of a cylindrical body 1 developed to be chewed by a pet whose tooth is to be cleaned, a rubberized material for preventing pet from any injury while chewing body 1, an imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images of surroundings, a chamber 3 arranged within body 1 for storing flavoring agent, an electronic nozzle 4 coupled with chamber 3 for dispensing flavoring agent on body 1 the smell of which passes through multiple hollow flexible protrusions 5 to attract pet towards body 1, a thermal imaging unit 6 for detecting presence of any injury or cavity within pet's mouth portion, a tooth sensor for detecting condition of pet's tooth, an electronic sprinkler 7 coupled with a container 8 for dispensing a chemical solution within pet's mouth via protrusions 5 in order to eliminate chances of occurrence of any tooth decay."
