MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013349 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'tortoise rescue device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tortoise rescue device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 attached multiple rods 2 for providing support on a ground surface, a camera 4 detects presence of a tortoise in proximity to body 1 that is in upside-down orientation, to which microcontroller actuates wheels 3 for maneuvering and positioning body 1 in proximity to tortoise, pair of L-shaped plates 5 configured with body 1 via a pair of sliders 6 and equipped with pair of clamps 7 for positioning plates 5 near side portion of tortoise, a pair of hinges 8 attached in between sliders 6 and plates 5 for tilting plates 5 and simultaneously actuates clamps 7 to release side portion of tortoise thus, flipping tortoise, a robotic arm 9 placing disc 10 over back portion, a nozzle 12 dispense medicated solution on injury to cure injury, an FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) sensor detects vital health parameters of tortoise."
