MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014318 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'tree branch cutting assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Deorda; Ravinder Singh; Shivam Pandey; and Rohit Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tree branch cutting assistive device, comprises of an elongated telescopically operated frame 1 having a first and second portion, a bar 10 attached with a curved-shaped blade 2 for cutting the branch, a handle 3 for holding the frame 1 underneath a tree, a cushion pad 9 for providing comfort to the user while gripping the handle 3, a microphone 4 to give voice commands for cutting the branch, an imaging unit 5 for detecting height and angle of the branch, a pneumatic actuator 10 to retract for tilting the bar 10 towards the frame 1, a hinge 7 for pushing the branch towards an auxiliary blade, a speaker 8 for notifying the user to accurately grip the handle 3 to prevent any chances of slippage."
