MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019650 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'tree de-barking device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajneesh Tyagi; and Dr. Sriom.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a tree de-barking device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch screen 2 installed on platform 1 for enabling user's input details, a camera 3 mounted on platform 1 for detecting location/height of stem, plurality of wheels 4 configured with platform 1 for maneuvering platform 1 underneath a stem, a bevel gear arrangement coupled with a threaded rod 5 positioned on platform 1 configured with a hollow unit 6 attached with a pair of members 7 rotating the rod 5 for translating the unit 6 to position the members 7 towards the branch, a pair of hinges configured between first ends of the members 7 for tilting the members 7 to connect a second ends of the members 7 with each other via an electromagnet 8 positioned on each of the second ends for enclosing the stem between the members 7."
