Inside, biodegradable PLGA nanoparticles loaded with insulin ensure sustained release for optimal absorption. The optional addition of chitosan, a mucosal penetration enhancer, further improves intestinal uptake. The two-stage oral insulin delivery system offers the convenience and effectiveness of oral insulin therapy, potentially simplifying life for people with diabetes and paving the way for a new era of diabetes management."
