MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019652 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'underwater swimming assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an underwater swimming assistive device, comprising a a wearable body 1 worn by a user over a facial region while swimming, a hollow cylindrical extendable member 2 attached with a mouth piece 3 for providing oxygen from air above water surface, a SONAR module 4 installed on the body 1 for detecting depth of the user from the water surface, a vibrating unit 5 configured with the body 1 producing vibrations to alert the user, an electronic valve 6 configured with the member 2 to remove water from the member 2, a pair of straps 7 configured with a motorized roller 8 configured with the body 1 for securing over the user's face and a goggle 9 attached with the body 1 to see surroundings."
