MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441037182 A) filed by Yenepoya, Yenepoya, Deralakatte, Karnataka, on May 10, 2024, for 'variable lock arch bar for maxillomandibular fixation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Vini D Machchhar; and Dr Arvind Rao. H. T.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a variable lock arch bar(s) for maxillomandibular fixation. More particularly, the disclosure involves a maxillomandibular device comprising of variable lock arch bar(s) with hooks and rectangular slots, self-tapping screws and stainless-steel wire(s). The said device provides flexibility by permitting screws to be positioned in multiple rectangular slots of the arch bar(s), creating space for minimizing the risk of tooth root damage. Furthermore, the self-tapping screws are placed in regions of intact bone at a 90-degree angle to ensure optimal stability."
