MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517056219 A) filed by Toyota Boshoku Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on June 11, for 'vehicle body structure.'
Inventor(s) include Takagi Tsutomu; Sakoh Mitsutaka; and Nakanishi Toshiaki.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This vehicle body structure comprises a body panel 12 and an interior finishing material 14. The interior finishing material 14 is formed by layering a substrate 30, a covering layer 32 that is disposed on the vehicle interior inner side of the substrate 30 and forms a design surface for the vehicle interior, and an infrared-reflecting layer 38 that serves as a layer on the vehicle interior outermost side of the interior finishing material 14 and reflects infrared rays entering from the body panel 12 side. The substrate 30 is formed from a thermosetting resin material. The infrared-reflecting layer 38 includes a plurality of conductive, scale-like metal pieces 40 and a non-conductive resin 42 that retains the scale-like metal pieces 40 in a state in which the scale-like metal pieces 40 are roughly parallel to one another and are layered in a thickness direction. The interior finishing material 14 is attached to the body panel 12 in a state in which a part of the infrared-reflecting layer 38 is in contact with the body panel 12. This makes it possible to provide a vehicle body structure that, in addition to having an infrared-reflecting function, can effectively suppress the effects of electromagnetic noise, static electricity, and the like."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 02, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/039573.
