MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065499 A) filed by Astemo, Ltd., Tokyo, on July 9, for 'vehicle control device and vehicle control method.'
Inventor(s) include Inaba Ryo; and Toyoda Hidehiro.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This vehicle control device comprises: a recognition unit that recognizes a surrounding situation on the basis of the detection results of an external sensor; a traveling path generation unit that generates a traveling path from a current point to a target point on the basis of the recognition by the recognition unit; and a transitionable point determination unit that determines a transitionable point at which an automatic operation mode may be transitioned to a manual operation mode while an operation task is being performed in the automatic operation mode. The traveling path generation unit generates a first traveling path, which is a traveling path from the current point to the target point, and a second traveling path, which is a traveling path from a point on the first traveling path to the transitionable point."
