MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414081451 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Oct. 25, 2024, for 'vehicle door structure.'
Inventor(s) include Masayoshi Ito; and Kohei Ogawa.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a vehicle door structure in which points to which loads are input from the reinforcement member to the door inner panel are distributed, thus preventing the reinforcement member from separating from the door inner panel. A vehicle door structure 110 includes; a door inner 10 panel 120 of a back door of a vehicle having a lower end portion 121 that has a horizontal wall 122 having an opening 122a and extending horizontally rearward with respect to the vehicle; a reinforcement member 130 attached to an upper face of the horizontal wall 122 of the lower end portion of 15 the door inner panel so as to surround the opening 122a; and a door latch configured to keep the back door closed by engaging with a vehicle body through the opening 122a, the door latch being attached to the reinforcement member 130 so as to block the opening 122a. The reinforcement member 130 20 has a horizontal latch mounting face portion 131 on which the door latch is mounted. An end of the latch mounting face portion 131 in the vehicle width direction forms a ridge line 133a, 133b extending outward in the vehicle width direction while extending rearward with respect to the 25 vehicle."
