MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067519 A) filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on July 15, for 'vehicle driving assistance device, vehicle driving assistance method, and vehicle driving assistance program.'

Inventor(s) include Kamatani Hideki; and Narita Takahiro.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a vehicle driving assistance device with which it is possible to obtain an effect of achieving a certain reduction in energy consumption depending on a drive mode. A vehicle driving assistance device (10) is configured to be capable of executing autonomous travel control for causing a host vehicle (100) to travel autonomously in a first travel mode in which a control value of the host vehicle is increased or decreased within a set control range, by selectively executing: motive power control in a first state in which a motive power generation loss in a motive power device (20) or a motive power transmission loss from the motive power device to a driving wheel is reduced; and motive power control in a second state in which the motive power device is mechanically or electrically connected to the driving wheel to apply motive power to the driving wheel. During execution of the autonomous travel control in the first travel mode, the vehicle driving assistance device sets the range of the set control range to be larger if a drive mode is a first drive mode in which motive power other than motive power generated by means of electric power of an electric power storage device (41) can be used, than if the drive mode is a second drive mode in which only motive power generated by means of electric power is used."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 30, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/042914.
