MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414086875 A) filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on Nov. 11, 2024, for 'vehicle lower body structure.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle lower body structure includes: a pair of rockers that extend in the vehicle front and rear direction on both outer sides in the vehicle width direction; a crossmember that 5 extends in the vehicle width direction between the pair of rockers and on the vehicle upper side of a battery connected to the pair of rockers, with both end portions of the crossmember in the extension direction thereof being connected to the pair of rockers; and an impact absorption member that is provided inside each of the pair of rockers, disposed so as to overlap the crossmember and the battery as viewed in a vehicle side view, and provided with 10 first guide portions that guide to the crossmember an impact load input from outside in the vehicle width direction."
