MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441015327 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on March 1, 2024, for 'ventilation, starting and shutdown control system for turbo-shaft engine.'

Inventor(s) include Dileep George; Sanjeev Kumar H; Aravind S; Rajesh R; Harikrishnan C S; and Shibu R M.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Ventilation, Starting and Shutdown Control System for Turbo-Shaft Engine provides Ia solution for controlling a turbo-shaft engine using a micro controller-based platform. The system is designed using electronic components and the core control is taken care by a micro controller. The system replaces the existing electromagnetically engine control system without any change in dimensional aspects. The system solves issues of obsolescence of existing engine control technology and is designed as 5 field Irreparable and reusable system. The system is much more precise, and the performance parameters are independent of environmental conditions The performance of the method used for controlling the ignition time of the engine, based on the ambient temperature of the system, is much more accurate than the method implemented in the existing engine control system."
