MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017489 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 11, 2024, for 'vertical aircraft flight control system.'
Inventor(s) include Waikhom Swizerland Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vertical aircraft flight control system, comprises of an elliptical shaped flexible wing 1 developed to be installed on lateral sides of front portion of vertical aircraft 2, a communication module integrated with a processor to establish a wireless connection with a computing unit 5 installed on cockpit of aircraft 2, a user-interface installed in computing unit 5 accessed by a pilot to provide input to regulate partial or complete deployment of the wings 1, a pair of motorized sliding integrated in lateral sides of wings 1 and fuselage 4 of aircraft 2 for partially translating the wings 1 inside the fuselage 4 outside the fuselage 4 acts as a canard aids in reducing loud noise produced by shock waves/sonic boom generated at supersonic flight and the sliding units 3 to translate the wings 1 outside the fuselage 4."
