MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070021 A) filed by Merck Patent Gmbh, Darmstadt, Germany, on July 23, for 'vhh anti-protac antibodies and complexes.'

Inventor(s) include Rieker, Marcel; Jaeger, Sebastian; Rasche, Nicolas; Koenning, Doreen; Schroeter, Christian; Desislava, Yanakieva; Schneider, Hendrik; and Evers, Andreas.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to mono or bi-specific antibodies, or antibody fragments or fusion proteins thereof, capable of binding to the VHL ligand VH032 (or a derivative thereof) degrading moiety (degron) of a proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) and, optionally, to a target protein. The invention also relates to complexes (PAX) of such antibodies, or antibody fragments or fusion proteins thereof, and PROTACS, as well as methods for their production, and medical as well as non-medical uses each thereof."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/087691.
