MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075126 A) filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Aug. 7, for 'video encoder, video encoding method, video decoder, video decoding method.'

Inventor(s) include Gan, Jonathan; and Yu, Yue.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The video encoding method, the video decoding method, the video encoder and the video decoder are provided. The video decoder includes an entropy decoding module, an inverse quantization module and an inverse transform module. The entropy decoding module receives an input bitstream. The entropy decoding module decodes the input bitstream to obtain a NSPT index. The inverse quantization module performs inverse quantization to generate a plurality of reconstructed coefficients. In response to a current coding block (CB) having a specific block size, the inverse transform module executes an inverse non-separable primary transform (NSPT) on the reconstructed coefficients to generate a reconstructed residual block based on a kernel with a specific dimensionality corresponding to the specific block size. The specific block size may be 8 16, 16 8, 16 4, 4 16, 8 4 or 4 8 block size."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/083939.
