MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517050838 A) filed by Cytiva US Llc, Marlborough, U.S.A., on May 27, for 'virus separation.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for separating smaller viruses from larger viruses from a fluid is provided, the method comprising (a) passing fluid containing smaller and larger viruses through a porous filter comprising a porous medium at a differential pressure of at least 20 psid and obtaining the smaller viruses; (b) reducing the pressure to 3 psid or less; and (c) passing additional fluid containing viruses through the porous filter comprising the porous medium at a pressure of at least 20 psid and obtaining additional smaller viruses."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 19, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/084771.
