MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544024291 A) filed by Abb Schweiz Ag, Baden, Switzerland, on March 18, for 'voltage clamping circuit for solid state circuit breakers.'
Inventor(s) include Shuyan Zhao; Chunmeng Xu; Lakshmi Ravi; and Zhou Dong.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A power semiconductor circuit is provided for clamping the voltage across the circuit during a fault. The circuit may include a power semiconductor switch, a clamping branch coupled in parallel with the power semiconductor switch, a snubber branch coupled in parallel with the power semiconductor switch and the clamping branch, and an isolation switch coupled in series with the power semiconductor switch. The clamping branch may include a first capacitor and a surge arrester coupled in parallel with a first resistor. The first capacitor may be coupled in series with the surge arrester and the first resistor. The snubber branch may include a second capacitor, a plurality of resistors, and a diode."
