MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084005 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'vr-based driving training assistive system.'
Inventor(s) include Rini Saxena.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A VR-based driving training assistive system, comprising an L-shaped platform 1 having a first and second portion 2, a touch enabled screen 3 accessed by user for selecting type of vehicle, a speaker 4 for notifying user to sit on a seat 5, pair of motorized hinges 5 to change configuration of seat 5, a camera 6 for detecting successful positioning of user along with posture of user, a conveyor 7 to translate a handlebar 8/ steering 9 in front of user for allowing user to access, a gear lever 10 and rear brake 11 installed on sides of seat 5 for allowing user to control speed of two-wheeler, a gear shifter 12, accelerator 13, brake paddle 14, clutch arrangement 15 positioned at front for allowing user to regulate speed of four-wheeler, and a VR based headset 16 for providing a virtual reality-based experience of driving to user."
