MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010717 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'water dispensing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A water dispensing assistive device, characterizes a wall-mounted frame 1 with suction cups 2, with a camera 3 for detecting the user's tumbler type, multiple robotic links 4 embedded on frame 1 for holding the tumbler, a laser sensor integrated with frame 1 for measuring the tumbler size, and a microphone 5 for voice commands by which the links 4 grip the tumbler securely, while a primary gripper 6 holds the tumbler in absence of handle within tumbler, with a secondary gripper 7 activates a water reservoir valve to dispense water, an ultrasonic flow meter measures the water quantity, and once the desired amount is reached, the secondary gripper 7 shuts off the valve to prevent further dispensing."
