Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Water Distillation Membranes And Methods For Using The Same' Filed by Cellulotech Inc.

MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517074941 A) filed by Cellulotech Inc., Victoria, Canada, on Aug. 6, for 'water distillation membranes and methods for using the same.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to a membrane for water distillation, and systems containing the membrane. The membrane includes a porous material including cellulosic fibers with long chain fatty acids grafted to one or more hydroxyl groups of the cellulosic fibers. During distillation, a contact angle between water and the membrane is above 90 degrees."
