MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621010241 A) filed by Bharat Sunil Thosar, Georai, Maharashtra, on Jan. 31, for 'water pump protection auto switch system.'

Inventor(s) include Bharat Sunil Thosar; and Bharati Babu Balasaheb.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "While irrigating farm land using a motor pump, if the water in the well or underground water tank runs out ( Goes down lower or foot valve level ),the motor pump should automatically switch off so that water pump does not get damaged and the farmers/users time is saved Our auto switch working on floating ball and micro lever electrical switch where floating ball connected to the switch lever through a very thin nylon wire and lever switch having three connections 1.Common connection 2.Normaly closed 3.Normaly opened, One Phase of pump connected to through Micro lever switch 1.Common and 2. Normally closed contacts, then floating ball floats on wells water through a pipe system which is directly connected to the micro switch lever through a thin nylon wire and at this position current passes through the common and NC contacts. When the wells water level goes down due to gravitational force floating ball acts pressure on lever and lever actuates and change its original position, at that time current supply between Common and Normally closed contacts has been cut off and due to disconnection of phase supply water pumps automatically shut off and Indicator lamp indicates that there is now sufficient water in well or under ground tank or borewell. This switch used for to protect the pump motor from dry run when the water level goes down from pump level and then automatically connects the current supply when water level goes up from pump level. This switch gives such time to switch off pump by manually."
