MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517048905 A) filed by Agc Inc., Tokyo, on May 21, for 'water-repelling agent composition, method for producing non-fluorinated polymer, treatment method, and article.'

Inventor(s) include Onishi Shunsuke; Shiota Yukiko; Kamijo Yuzuka; Yamasaki Ryujiro; and Sugiyama Kazunori.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a water-repelling agent composition which contains a non-fluorinated polymer having a constituent unit derived from a long chain alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, a constituent unit derived from a vinyl halide monomer and a constituent unit derived from a (meth)acrylate monomer having a polysiloxane structure. The molecular weight of the (meth)acrylate monomer having a polysiloxane structure is 1000-3600. The ratio of the constituent unit derived from a vinyl halide monomer relative to the total amount of constituent units in the non-fluorinated polymer is 1-12 mass%."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/041935.
