MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094069 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 30, for 'wearable device for moving virtual object using gesture, and method therefor.'

Inventor(s) include Yoon, Haemi; Kim, Hyeonjin; and Cho, Minji.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A processor of a wearable device according to one embodiment can, on the basis of identifying a body part in a designated posture for moving a virtual object, display the virtual object being moved along a path of the body part being moved within the FoV of a camera. The processor can, on the basis of identifying that the body part is being moved out of the FoV through a first position at the edge of the FoV, display the virtual object at a second location, corresponding to the first location, within the virtual space. After displaying the virtual object at the second location, the processor can display the virtual object, moved from the second location and being moved along the path of the body part within the FoV, on the basis of identifying the body part in the designated posture moved into the FoV."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 25, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/001240.
