MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621008172 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 28, for 'wearable electronic device and method for maternal health monitoring.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Anaya Kulkarni; Dr. Deepak Kumar Yadav; Prof. Sapna Patel; and Anamika Rathod.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable electronic device (100A) for maternal health monitoring comprises a plurality of sensors (102) integrated in the wearable electronic device (100A) and configured to continuously capture physiological data comprising maternal vital parameters and fetal health parameters, a memory (104) integrated in the wearable electronic device (100A) and configured to store a first machine learning model (108A), and a hardware processor (106) integrated in the wearable electronic device (100A) and operatively coupled to the memory (104) and the plurality of sensors (102). The hardware processor (106) obtains the physiological data from the plurality of sensors (102), generates a risk assessment by executing the first machine learning model (108A) on the physiological data indicating probability of a maternal health complication, generates an alert signal based on the risk assessment, and transmits the alert signal to an external device (110) to display a health alert."
