MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004601 A) filed by Manisha Gupta, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'wearable high isolation circularly polarized mimo antenna for 5g and wireless communication applications.'
Inventor(s) include Manisha Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Method for circularly polarized multiband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for wearable gadgets is presented. Validating the performance of Four and two elements MIMO antenna by testing CST Microwave Studio Suite simulation tools, and they are arranged parallel, anti-parallel, and orthogonally to one another. Design of MIMO 1 2 antenna of 55 110 1.6 mm3 (L W h) and 2 2 antenna of 110 110 1.6 mm3 size are on normal cotton fabric with 1.6 dielectric constant and 0.025 loss tangent. This multiband fractal microstrip patch antenna is of Lorentz shaped pattern with elliptically shaped fractal patch without defected ground. The recommended antenna is resonating at various frequencies (s11 = -10 dB) such as 5.1GHz, 8.7GHz (8.5 to 8.92 GHz), 10.67GHz (10.2 to 10.9 GHz), 13.8GHz (13.5 to 14.1GHz),18.3GHz (17.8 to 18.8GHz), 20.76GHz (20.2 to 21.4 GHz) and 22.18 GHz which are used in 5G application as well as wireless communication. The antenna uses microstrip feeding as a feeding technique. The designed antenna in free space offers a diversity gain (DG) larger than 9.99dB (9.9916 dB), an envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) that is lower to 0.0027. Parallel and anti-parallel antennas having isolation less than - 30 dB whereas orthogonal antenna has = - 37 dB. The antenna provides good MIMO features in free air, consistent radiation, significant gain and effectiveness. A comparison is also made between various textile material in return loss as well as in gain."
