MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024808 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'wearable protection device for sports.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shivani Vaid; Dr. Geetika Sharma; Aman Khajuria; and Yatin.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable protection device for sports, comprising a wearable component 1 worn on upper portion of a user's body while playing a sport, a computing unit to provide input regarding type of sport to, a motion sensor monitors movement of user's body parts while playing sport, an accelerometer embedded monitors speed of user while playing sport, accordingly a speaker 2 guides user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 detect a fall of user on a ground surface, an inflating unit 4 arranged with component 1 to inflate for preventing impact of collision of user's body, an ultrasonic sensor detects presence of any obstacle on playing field of sport, accordingly speaker 2 alerts user, a photo-plethysmography (PPG) sensor monitor heart rate of user accordingly speaker 2 notifies user to halt the playing and also a notification is sent to a computing unit of concerned authorities."
