MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005483 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'wearable rescue assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Praveen Kumar; and Vikasdeep Mann.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable rescue assistive device comprises of a frame 1 having a pair of links 2 developed to be held by a user that desires to perform a rescue operation, a handle 3 for providing grip to user while positioning frame 1 in proximity to an accident affected area, a wearable body 4 equipped by user over a torso region, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance between frame 1 and objects that are required to be cut of lifted during rescue operation, a hydraulic unit 5 for providing movement to links 2 by pumping or releasing a hydraulic fluid filled inside hydraulic unit 5 and due to movement of links 2, the links 2 grips or lifts objects, an imaging unit 6 for capturing images of surroundings of frame 1 and a pair of telescopically operated blades 7 for cutting objects during movement of links 2."
