MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010780 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'wearable safety device for heavy industrial works.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Pooja Sahni; Dr. Ankur Singhal; Ishika Sharma; Akanksha Negi; and Akansha.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable safety device for heavy industrial works, comprises of a U-shaped frame 1 having a first and second portion configured with multiple straps 5 arranged on the frame 1 for allowing the user to successfully accommodate the frame 1 over the body, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 10 to determines height of the user, a pair of sets of telescopic links 2 to extend for positioning an L-shaped plate 3 underneath feet of the user, an ultrasonic sensor for determining size of the user's feet, a drawer arrangement 4 for extending the plates 3 in order to accommodate the feet over the plate 3, and an extendable platform 6 for providing support to upper body of the user, a pair of electromagnetic shock absorbers for absorbing shock, and a gas detection sensor for determining presence toxicity in surrounding air."
