MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087349 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'wearable support device for injured arm.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable support device for injured arm comprises of an L-shaped body 1 developed in a manner to be accommodated with an injured arm of a user, multiple C-shaped extendable members 2 for gripping user's arm, a curved flap 3 equipped with a strap 4 for providing a support to the user's arm, a camera 5 for capturing multiple images of user's arm, a pair of motorized sliders 6 for positioning members 2 at appropriate locations on user's arm, a motorized roller 7 for wrapping strap 4 for securing flap 3 with user's torso region, a motorized pivot joint for tilting body 1 with respect to flap 3 in order to aid user in lifting arm, a thermal imaging unit 8 for detecting strain in user's arm based on which pivot joint tilts user's arm for relieving detected strain, thereby preventing any chances of pain in user's arm."
