MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621031065 A) filed by Shubham Kanungo, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on March 15, for 'wearable voice-activated mantra recognition and counting system.'
Inventor(s) include Shubham Kanungo.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a wearable electronic device configured to automatically detect, recognize, count, and record spoken mantras or repetitive chanting activities. The system includes an audio input module comprising a microphone for capturing chanting sounds, a signal processing unit for processing the captured audio signals, and a speech recognition module configured to identify predefined mantra patterns. Upon detection of a recognized mantra, a counting mechanism automatically increments the corresponding repetition count. The device further includes a real-time clock module for recording time-related information associated with chanting sessions and a memory module for storing chanting records, including mantra type, repetition count, and session statistics. The system may further include a display or wireless communication interface to enable users to view chanting statistics or synchronize stored data with an external device such as a smartphone. All components are integrated within a compact wearable housing designed to be worn on the wrist in the form of a wristband, bracelet, or smartwatch-style device. The invention enables hands-free monitoring and digital recording of chanting activities, thereby eliminating the need for manual counting tools while providing accurate tracking and analysis of spiritual practices."
