MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025520 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'wearable walking aid device.'

Inventor(s) include Reema Mitra; Dr. Supriya Agnihotri; Komal; Anchal; and Dimple.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable walking aid device, comprising an elliptical extendable frame 1 accommodate over heel tab and tongue of a shoe, a cylindrical hollow member 2 is installed with the frame accommodated around calf portion of a user's leg, a user-interface 3 installed within a computing unit for give input commands, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the frame and for capturing and processing multiple images of the shoe, a curved-shaped unit 5 installed with the frame to extend via a drawer arrangement 6, a speaker 7 mounted on the frame for notifying the user, an air compressor for inflating an inflatable unit equipped within the member for gripping the member, an electromagnetic spring 8 configured between the frame and rod for providing assistance to the user in walking on the ground surface."
