MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026117 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'wearable walking assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sukhmani Sandhu; Shailee Thakur; Anmol; and Rashi Arora.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable walking assistive device, comprising a pair of wearable bodies 1, associated with the device, developed to be worn on foot by a user, a pair of straps 2 are configured with the bodies 1 for allowing the user to grip the bodies 1 with the foot, an imaging unit 3 mounted on one of bodies 1 for detecting gait of the user, a laser projection unit 4 for projecting a laser beam to guide the user in appropriately walking over ground surface in case of inaccurate gait detection, plurality of pneumatic pins 5 to extend for providing an effective to the bodies 1 over the ground surface, thereby preventing slippage of the user while walking on the ground surface, a humidity sensor for detecting humidity in each bodies 1 and plurality of iris pores 6 to open for allowing passage of air within body to reduce the moisture."
