MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065500 A) filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aichi, Japan, on July 9, for 'welding method, welding system, and correcting method.'
Inventor(s) include Yamamoto Takeshi; and Matsuo Ryuta.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A welding method according to the present disclosure includes: a step for shining an inspection laser obliquely onto a workpiece while changing a defocussing amount; a step for determining a correction value for the defocussing amount on the basis of the intensity of returned light from the inspection laser; and a step for welding the workpiece by shining a welding laser onto the workpiece in such a way that the defocussing amount corrected by the correction value becomes zero. In the welding method according to the present disclosure, the inspection laser is scanned in a direction approaching an emission point of the inspection laser at a timing at which the defocussing amount becomes zero, during the step for shining the inspection laser onto the workpiece. In this way, the present invention provides a welding method, a welding system, and a correcting method with which it is possible to improve the accuracy of focal point control of a welding laser."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/045888.
