MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014325 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'welding torch holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Deorda; Ravinder Singh; Simranjot Singh; and Himanshu Bagri.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A welding torch holding device comprises a platform 1 that is developed to positioned over a fixed surface, plurality of suction units 2 are arranged beneath the platform 1 to affix the platform 1 with the surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed over the platform 1 to determine length of the welding torch, an L-shaped extendable frame 4 configured with the platform 1 to extend in accordance with the detected height, a laser measurement sensor installed over the platform 1 to monitor thickness of the torch, a motorized extendable clamp 5 configured with apex portion of the frame 4 to grip the torch in a secured manner, and a microphone 6 installed over the platform 1 to receive voice command of a user regrading requirement of the torch."
