MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527052076 A) filed by Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corporation, Tokyo, on May 29, for 'wire rope for elevator, and method for repairing elevator.'

Inventor(s) include Hida, Masahiko; Takaoka, Haruki; and Yasutomi, Junya.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wire rope for an elevator in which outer peripheral strands each have a central wire thread and at least one wire thread layer that is disposed on the outer periphery of the central wire thread. The at least one wire thread layer is two or fewer layers. The at least one wire thread layer includes an outer layer that is in contact with the outer periphery of a rope core. The outer layer has a plurality of outer-layer wire threads. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the plurality of outer-layer wire threads included in each strand to the cross-sectional area of the entirety of each strand is 60% or lower. The rope core has a central steel wire and a core outer peripheral layer that is disposed on the outer periphery of the central steel wire."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 27, 2022, under International application No.PCT/JP2022/048380.
