MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004411 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'wooden block holding device.'
Inventor(s) include Sachin Kalsi.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden block holding device, comprising a semi-circular shaped body 1 having a first and second portion 2, 3, multiple wheels 4 are assembled underneath the body 1 for providing movement to the body 1, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 for determining presence of wooden block in proximity to the body 1, a robotic gripper 6 for gripping and pulling the wooden block inside the body 1, a weight sensor for detecting insertion of the block, multiple motorized pop-up balls 7 for providing movement to the inserted block, a laser sensor for detecting dimension of the block, a pair of motorized sliding units 8 for providing movement to a pair of curve shaped plates 9, a touch sensor assembled on a disc 10 for detecting positioning of the block inside the body 1, and a pair of C-shaped clamps 12 for clamping the inserted block."
